After losing her husband, a Korean mother relocates to Canada in the 1990’s with their young son, determined to provide a better life for him than the one she left behind.  As they each fight for acceptance and respect in their new country, the rift between mother and son grows.  Sudden devastating news prompts their return to Korea with hopes of reconciling with the past.
